By A Thread is the Placerville
area chapter of The Embroiderers’ Guild
of America, Inc. EGA was established in 1958 as the American
branch of the prestigious Embroiderers’ Guild in
England (est. 1906). It was formed for the express purpose
of fostering
the art of needlework by encouraging a high standard of
design and technique in embroidery. It is our purpose to
conduct
instruction and research in the art of needlework and share
that knowledge with all interested parties through our
meetings, programs and workshops. Membership is open to
all levels
of stitchers and we welcome visitors to our meetings up
to two times a year for free. Come join us in pursuit of
beautiful,
fun, timeless, exotic, traditional, dramatic, and wonderful
embroidery.
GENERAL
MEETINGS
Our regular meetings are held
at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the
month. Socializing starts at 6:00 pm.
